The Grand Valley Football Connection

Just got done watching Northwest Missouri State claim the 2009 NCAA Division II football title with a 30-23 win over Grand Valley State. It's interesting to note that Chuck Martin, Grand Valley's head coach, was a graduate assistant on MSU's football staff under Dan Runkle back in 1992. Martin, who had assistant coaching stints at Wittenberg, Millikin and Eastern Michigan after leaving MSU and prior to joining the Lakers as an assistant coach, has led GVSU to two NCAA titles during the last six seasons as head coach.
